Thursday 21st May
Dear Diary,
Today it was really tiring! We had to be at school for 2.50 in the morning! It was a three and a half hour drive to Heathrow airport! It was pretty boring on the plane so we watched two movies. When we got off the plane it was really hot! We got to the hotel, went to our rooms and then met Demitrius who told us the hotel rules and some things about Cyprus. For dinner we had a Chinese buffet, which was nice and then a meeting about what we were doing tomorrow. There was a shop near the hotel so we bought some lollies and chilled out by the pool. We went to bed and all slept well.

Friday 22nd May
Dear Diary,
Breakfast started at eight onwards. There were loads of goodies to eat. Most people were late because their wake up alarms didn’t come on. We had to go out at 9.30 because the girlies were going shopping! The boys had to go and train for 2 hours ha, ha! The shopping was really good but most people didn’t buy much because it was really expensive. The boys say the training was hard but the centre was good. The girls had lunch in Limassol and came back on the bus. The boys ate lunch at the hotel and then we all went for a fixture at a school, Foleys. We all lost but it was fun. When we came back we all went to the pool but because there was no lifeguard we could only paddle. Later we had a BBQ for tea (yummy), followed by a karaoke night. Loads of people sang but Katie, Ellie and Georgia were obviously the best! Henry had his eye on a girl. We were all shattered when we got home and went straight to bed.

Our second basketball game was against The American Academy. We turned up at 10am only started playing at 11.30 because we had to watch the two netball matches. We started strong but began to lax in defence in the second quarter but by the third quarter we were a few points ahead. Then Haydn went for a slam and it ended up as a layup. By the fourth quarter our offence started to slow with some loose three pointers. We ended the game on a win!

Sunday 24th May
When we finally got to training, we went through the drills and practised getting in front of our marker. It was tiring as we had been at the water park all day but most of us found it useful. I felt bad for the boys that they hadn’t had time to relax in between the water park and training. Later on we went bowling where we split into four groups and were given an aisle each. I thought I did quite well with a score of 31 but other people, mainly the boys got top scores in the 100s. When we got back I found that I’d lost my phone and Emily Sevenoaks had sunburn on her back in the shape of a smiley face, it was so funny!

Monday 25th May
In the morning we went down to the beach which was not very sandy (but hey!) Mr Farmer went in to risk assess the sea while we played catch and some others who were determined to get a tan stretched out on the beach. It was boiling! When we got back we changed and had our tour match photos taken. At 5.45 we all went down to the basketball centre where the boys were playing against the some of the best teams in Limassol and the girls were going to cheer them on. The boys played really well in the first quarter with Danny, Haydn, Harry, Kit and Henry starting the team off well. At the second quarter they were only a few points behind but then some excellent skills from the opposite team put them well in the lead, which continued through the rest of the match but our boys scored some amazing points and did the team proud. When we went back to the hotel Rory was getting a bit too much attention from the opposing school!

Tuesday 26th May
The first netball match against Lingfield Notredame was quite hard work. We stared off equal but Fairfield easily tired. The shooters from Notredame were all really good and were pulling ahead of us but we were encouraging each other and managed to get a few goals in. The final score was 22-5 to Lingfield but we came off feeling that we had done our best and were ready for a shower!

The second match was against the Yr 9 team from Lingfield. We played hard all the time and were rewarded with a win. The final score was 12-9 so we only won by a bit but we didn’t care because we wanted to show them that we were better than them!

Final Day
So after we enjoyed our netball match we had a bit of time to go in the pool and cool down. After lunch we all got ready for a trip to Paphos. We started with a bit of sightseeing; the Roman Baths, the remains of a Roman house, the amphitheatre and a few mosaics. Emma dropped her sunglasses down into the ruins so Mr Farmer had to play the hero and rescue them! On the way back we had to stop to let a herd of goats cross our path. Evening meal was Italian but NO pizza! We hope to have a good journey home tomorrow but we all wish we could stay longer!

Well boys and girls, what a wicked tour we have all had. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Boys, you have been unbelievable on court and I hope you remember those experiences for a long time to come. Be good to yourselves and each other.

Thanks to everyone for making it a very enjoyable time. It was wonderful to spend time with such a super bunch of young people, some of whom I knew before and others I didn’t, but do now!
