Timetable
Week
Fairfield operates a two-week timetable, details of which will be in your child’s planner. This panel will show you which week we are currently on and allow you to check future dates.

Year 9 in Ypres

30 September: Here's Essex Farm Cemetery where John McCrae wrote:

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Some students visited the site yesterday. The rest went to the Somme Battlefields.

At 8pm last night two of our students took part in the world famous Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate. Jess Scrimshire and Caleb Roberts. They represented the school beautifully and I was proud to see Fairfield remember the men fought so bravely in the terrible conditions of World War One.

Today the two groups swap over and my coach is winding its way down the the Somme region. More updates to follow.
