All students are expected to wear the following:

  • Fairfield polo shirt (Year 11 boys – white shirt and school tie; Year 11 girls – white blouse with skirt or trousers OR white blouse and school tie, worn with trousers only).
  • Fairfield school jumper (green for Years 7 – 10, navy for Year 11)
  • Plain black tailored trousers without adornment (eg studs/external zip etc). A plain black narrow belt may be worn if necessary.   When trousers are laid flat, the hems should measure at least 20cm from seam to seam (ie 40cm all the way round) and not more than 25cm.
  • Cords or jeans / jeans style are not acceptable – including “patch” pockets.
  • Lycra trousers are not acceptable (eg “Miss Sexy”)
  • Skinny leg / leggings / jeggings / cigarette pants / capri pants / tapered ankle styles etc are not acceptable.
  • Plain black tailored skirt on or near the knee.
  • Lycra skirts are not acceptable.
  • Pleated skirts are not acceptable.
  • Skater / tight pencil / short skirts are not acceptable.
  • Black flat shoes suitable for walking around a rural site.
  • Heel height maximum 5cm.
  • Not backless or open toed.
  • Trainers / “daps” / heavy work boots etc are not acceptable.

During periods of bad weather we allow students to wear black boots under trousers (not tucked in and not with skirts).

  • Black socks under trousers; white knee length socks or black tights under skirts.
  • Students should have a warm and waterproof coat without bright colours, pictures or logos. Hooded sweatshirts / jackets are not allowed.

 

Jewellery is not allowed at school, except for one small plain stud in each ear lobe, and a watch.  No other body piercing is allowed.

Hairstyle and colour should be appropriate for school / a work environment.  Makeup should be kept to a minimum.  Hair must be tied back for all practical subjects.

ALL ITEMS OF UNIFORM AND PE KIT MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH THE OWNER’S NAME

Sports Kit

Please ensure that students have suitable supportive or protective underwear for PE.
Students are advised to wear shin pads for hockey, football and rugby. If chosen to represent the school, these items are essential.

Equipment and Smart Start

Students will need a sturdy school bag in which to carry everything they need for the day. Equipment will be checked daily for SmartStart. Additionally, students will be expected to have their planners and reading books with them.
