A message from Mr Jennings 9th Oct 2024

Dear Parents / Carers,

Firstly, as we approach half term, I would like to thank you all for your support in these first few weeks of the Autumn term. It has been a busy time for staff and students as we have been settling into our lovely new classrooms, much needed new changing facilities and welcoming a fabulous new year group joining the family.

Secondly, thank you for your patience at drop off and especially pick up times.  With around 60% of our students coming from out of catchment, it takes time in order to get them safely on board the buses. Thank you also for your consideration of local residents when parking in the village and using the unofficial  ‘one way’ system that runs past the school to the Nag's Head to keep the lane free.  Where cars park in the lane or drive down it when students are walking home, their safety is jeopardised.

In other news, we have a very exciting parent and carer consultation coming up about uniform to look out for,   specifically regarding the introduction of shorts during the warmer weather.  I would appreciate your views, along with any other thoughts that you have regarding our current uniform.

Finally, a reminder that as shown on the calendar on the website,  this Friday (Oct 11th) school is closed to all students and staff.

I hope that the rest of the term goes well for you all.

Yours faithfully

Paul Jennings

BBC Profile on our Ethics Lessons Tackling Misogyny in Society

Fairfield students were interviewed by the BBC about current issues surrounding misogyny and sexism. We are incredibly proud of the way our students were able to articulate how they felt about a topic many people find difficult to talk about.

Fairfield students are passionate about calling out abusive, harmful or hurtful behaviour thanks to our See it, Name it, Stop it initiative. You can find more about this in our Safeguarding & Wellbeing section.
